RFL 2005 – Rules and Regulations

Regular Season

1.

It is 100 credits to enter.

2.

There will be 2 rounds to the draft.  The teams that you select in the draft will be your ‘Level 1’ teams.

3.

Draft Order for the first round is determined by a random method agreed upon by the participants.  The 2nd round will be in the reverse order of the 1st.

4.

Trades will be allowed after the draft and before the 1st game of the season. Cost of a trade will be 10 credits and will be added to the pay-out for the Overall Season winner.

5.

You will play your Level 1 teams each week that you own them and they have a game.  If one or both of your Level 1 teams have a bye week, then you will select an additional Level 2 Team for each bye team you have for that week.

6.

Level 1 Game rules:

6a.   You must play your Level 1 Teams any week in which they have a game.

6b.   If one or more of your Level 1 games have a Bye week, then you will select an additional Level 2 team for each Level 1 team of yours that has a Bye.

Note: The additional Level 2 teams you select will play out using the Level 2 Game point rules below and will be against the spread but will not count toward the following:

- Level 2 Team Usage

- Level 2 Match-up Bets

- Level 2 Auto-Bet Qualifying

6c.   Level 1 Games are played straight-up.  There are no point spreads used for these games.

6d.   10 Points will be awarded for a win.  All other points will be the same for both Level 1 and Level 2 games.  (That point structure is described below)

6e.   Level 1 Match-Up Bet Clause:  If two players have Level 1 teams meet in a game, there will be a mandatory 5 Credit Match-Up Bet for that game.  The head to head game is played straight-up so no points spread is used to determine the winner.

7.

Level 2 Game rules:

7a.  You will select 2 additional teams each week for your Level 2 Games.  (Note: If your Level 1 teams have a Bye week, you may be selecting up to 4 Level 2 games in a particular week.)

7b.  Level 2 Games are played against the spread.  The line for each game will be sent to the participants on Wednesday and picks are due by Friday for that weekend games.  (If there is a Thursday game, then picks are due before the start of that game.)  The line will come from Yahoo and can be found here:  http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/odds.htm

7c. 15 Points will be awarded for a win.  Because these games are against the spread, the game can end in a tie in which case you will be awarded 7.5 win points.  All other points will be the same for both Level 1 and Level 2 games.  (That point structure is described below)

7d.  Level 2 Match-Up Bet Clause:  If two players pick different sides of the same game for their Level 2 picks, there will be a mandatory 5 Credit Match-Up Bet for that game.  The head to head game will be against the points spread that is sent out in the Wednesday picks email.   This bet is not contingent on everyone picking different level 2 teams, this rule is in effect even if people pick the same team.

Note: Players can move the line so there can be a middle ground where both people would win the game based on their line which would make the bet a push.

7e.  Level 2 Game Line Movement:   It will cost you 1 Credit to move the line 0.5 points in any direction.  There is a maximum line movement of 5 points in either direction.  If you pick the favorite, you cannot move the line passed ‘even’.  Your intentions to move the spread will need to be included with your picks for that week.

7f.  Credits paid during the quarter for Level 2 Game line movement will be split as follows.

- 50% to the winner of the Quarter that the line was moved in.

- 50% to the Overall Season Winner

7g.  You cannot repeat any Level 2 Team picks during the same quarter.

7h.  You can repeat a Level 2 team in a different quarter if you want to but it will cost you credits which is shown in the table below:
